The call of every church is to be God-centered and God-focused. Here are some ways that we answer that call.

Children's Worship

10:45 am

Berto Lopez, Leader

Our children meet with the adults for the first part of morning worship. They are then dismissed to Children's Church. Great things are happening in Children's Church.

Missions Focus

The first Sunday of each month is a focus on Missions with Rami and Kayla Rihani as leaders.  We will learn about how missionaries are "going and making disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) and how we can do the same-whether the mission field be in Lombard or across the ocean.  The kids received a "passport to missions" book this past Sunday. Each month we will visit a different country and will learn about the country, it's people, and a Nazarene missionary family serving in that country.  At the end of each session each child will get a passport stamp for their passport to missions book.  The stamp will have the country's flag and the names of the missionaries that we learned about. All kids are welcome to join the journey!

SUNDAY SCHOOL----

Sunday School is offered for all ages and is a time for our church family to gather together for teaching, fellowship and sharing God's word

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

9:30 am

Adult Sunday School classes and topics of study for Fall 2010 are as follows:

College/Young Adult - Rich Hill, Teacher

This class is geared towards 18 year old to 30 year old people. The first study is called "In the Beginning and will combine some Old Testament study with discussions about the current age we live in.

Adult Bible Study - Sandi Hill, Teacher

Currently this class is studying the minor prophets from the book "Be Amazed" by Warren W. Wiersbe. "When you compare the Minor Prophets with the books written by Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, the Minor Prophets are "minor" only in size. The messages the Minor Prophets wrote are of major imortance. In fact, their messages ought to fill us with wonder. The Lord Jesus admonishes us "to believe all that the prophets have spoken" (Luke 24:25, and that includes the MInor Prophets. May we be faithful to receive and believe their messages and to obey what God tells us to do."

Christian Personal Finance - Norm Kruithof, Teacher

Norm has an earned degree in finance in addition to a lifetime of experience working with finance from a Christian perspective.  This class is great for young couples trying to establish a workable financial plan, as well as for anyone who needs to brush up on things such as budgeting, investment and long-term planning.  There is some instruction, but much interaction among the members of the class.

Faith Connections - Millie Cermak, Teacher

This class will use the Nazarene Sunday School Curriculum.

Currently, they are studying the book of Romans. Paul teaching to new converts in Rome.  It still directs us as we live in today's world.

1.  Reminding them of Christ death & resurrection to save them and us from the condemnation for sins.

2.  God saving righteousness is received by faith, and available to all.

3.   Sharing our daily experiences as we walk with God.

Men's Bible Study - 7:00 pm

The Men meet on Wednesday nights for prayer, fellowship and inductive Bible Study.  We work through the Bible, one section or chapter at a time.  The pace is unhurried and we have time to ask deep questions that the text provokes.  Our current study is in the Book of Genesis.

Women's Bible Study - 7:00 pm

The Ladies Bible study meets on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM, following the evening meal. During our time together we participate in a Bible Study followed by a time of prayer, sharing concerns in our lives, the church and the world. The Bible Studies are chosen from books or DVD based series. We generally do a couple of Beth Moore DVD based series a year. The women are multi-generational -- from college age to grandmothers. Please feel free to join us on a regular basis or now and then as your schedule permits!

Currently, the Wednesday Night Bible Study is studying "The Virtuous  Woman:  Shattering the Superwoman Myth by Vicki Courtney.
Does the woman in Proverbs 31 make you feel like a sluggard? For years Christian women have struggled to understand what the Proverbs 31 woman was all about. Instead of encouragement or instruction, for most, this passage offered “more guilt than eating a one-pound bag of M&Ms.” Is this the ideal woman? Or is the Proverbs 31 woman an outdated fixture of the past? T Join us as we explore Proverbs 31, revealing the heart and character of a godly woman and showing how to become a woman of worth, wisdom, and purpose.

Come join us every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm and grow in the knowledge of God's Word.
